You can change the language for the edX site to any of the supported languages on the Account Settings page.
Additionally the new Universal Translation feature lets you set your preferred language for the site and video transcripts all in one place.
Look for the Site Language Button (globe icon) on the right of the Course Header at the top of the page:
- Clicking the globe button will open a language selection window.
- Select your preferred site language from the list of currently supported site languages and click submit.
Once you have selected a site language, you will then see a Unit Translation Button within the course content:
- The unit translation will automatically default to your site language (the one you set in the header).
- You can change the translation back to the original course language at any time by clicking this button.
If the course content is not available in your selected site language, the button will show a "not available" message and default the unit back to the original course language.
